Domestic Contractor of the Year

Safe Gas NI celebrated the company’s 10th anniversary by winning the Domestic Contractor of the Year title at the Northern Ireland Plumbing & Heating Awards.

The recognition marks the huge strides the company has made since husband and wife, Paul and Victoria Scott, have made since starting the company in 2004 in their kitchen with just one van on the road.

The company now has its own offices in Glengormley with a staff of 12, including six full time plumbers/gas engineers and two apprentices.

Paul said, “We are over the moon and this is the perfect way to celebrate our 10th anniversary in business. Our main goal has always been to simply keep our customers happy by completing work in a safe and reliable manner and we see this award of recognition that we’re achieving this.”

The forward-thinking company has invested in a computer system that enhances the standard of service delivered to customers. This includes capturing signatures and before and after photographs onsite, which are then automatically updated in the company’s office along with the full report and details of any certificates that need to be issued. Estimates and surveys are also recorded on this system along with invoices.

Safe Gas NI also uses e-mail and text messaging to keep in touch with customers, in particular to confirm appointment times and information on servicing.

Paul added, “These type of systems make a significant difference to how we deal with customers and it is something that we plan to build on further. Our future plans include opening our own showroom with fully operational appliances, including gas fires, gas tumble dryers and gas boilers.”
