At the end of and after 2012, any registered gas engineer will place your boiler “At Risk” if they cannot fully examine the flue. They will formally advise you to fit inspection hatches in the appropriate places so that an inspection can be fully carried out. Until the hatches have been installed, the boiler will remain “At Risk” and put your family in danger from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning which can cause death or serious injury. You or your landlord will need to arrange for inspection hatches to be fitted.
