If your boiler is over 10 years old it could be costing you quite allot of money to keep it running as older boilers tend to waste a lot on energy and can be harmful to the environment. Research shows that older boilers convert as little as 60% of fuel that they use, making for a very inefficient way to heat a home and produce hot water. We install Worcester Bosch Group, condensing boilers and other boilers that have proven to improve efficiency by 90% which in turn means you could be saving 30% on your heating bills. If you think your boiler is unpredictable; if you find that you have hot water in the header tank or it is suddenly very loud, it may not mean you need a new boiler, but it is something that an engineer should take a look at. We can then advise on the best procedure for you.Our aim is to ensure all our customers have the most cost efficient boilers and that their home’s heating & hot water system is functionally sound.

Boiler repairs are a common feature come autumn every year. Some are lucky enough to get away with some minor trouble shooting when an extra load is put on the boiler in the shape of central heating. Safegas Annual Boiler Service And Safety Inspection Promise To You that we will:
The routine annual boiler servicing is something almost every household has to go through. The harshness of the weather in recent years has brought annual boiler servicing to the top of our to-do list before the onset of winter.
Whether it’s heating or hot water, boilers are at the heart of the modern home. Yet most of us forget about our boilers until they start causing us trouble. It is best to find a professionally trained person for annual boiler servicing. Looking after your annual boiler servicing will reap the following benefits:
Full-blown boiler problems can often develop from minor faults. An annual service will increase the chance that these are picked up on and fixed before they become a problem, saving you money and future hassle.
The engineer who undertakes your annual boiler service will make sure that it is running as efficiently as possible. This will go a long way towards making sure that you minimize your heating bills.
Boilers that aren’t properly installed, maintained or ventilated can produce carbon monoxide. Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include headaches, drowsiness, nausea, breathlessness and stomach pains. Signs are hard to spot and can be confused with tiredness or a cold. Unfortunately this silent killer can’t be seen or smelt, so it really is important to make sure your boiler is serviced at least once a year.
Contact us for a hassle free inspection hatch installation 02890343665.
At the end of and after 2012, any registered gas engineer will place your boiler “At Risk” if they cannot fully examine the flue. They will formally advise you to fit inspection hatches in the appropriate places so that an inspection can be fully carried out. Until the hatches have been installed, the boiler will remain “At Risk” and put your family in danger from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning which can cause death or serious injury. You or your landlord will need to arrange for inspection hatches to be fitted.
Contact us for a hassle free inspection hatch installation by competent experienced tradesmen insured with public indemnity cover. We fit quality white powder coated, metal, BS fire rated access panels.
Although most of the affected boilers and flue systems are relatively new (installed since 2000), the risk of faults leading to the release of CO increases as the system gets older, especially if it is not serviced regularly. More comprehensive details can be found HERE

What has been found is that if pipe work becomes blocked it take more energy to pump water round the system and will cause excessive wear and tear on the boiler.
Simple things like flushing a system with a good cleanser like Sentinel x300 will remove flux and solder deposits and light silt and sludge.
Systems should have and inhibitor added to them like Sentinel x100 which stops hydrogen gassing, reduces noise and stops corrosion.
These products will prolong the life of the system and stop unnecessary wear and tear.
The other big change to protect the life of heating system, boiler and working parts is the introduction to fitting a filter. One of the most popular on the market is the Magnclean. The Magna clean twintech is highly efficient and will remove both iron oxide and other non magnetic dirt within heating systems.
ADEY has extended its impressive product range with the addition of MagnaClean TwinTech®, the company’s first dual-action magnetic and non-magnetic filter. Advances in recent years have now created a totally effective dual-action filter all in one, eliminating virtually 100% of suspended black iron oxide and all other non-magnetic particles and debris from the system.
MagnaClean TwinTech is a proven technology and with its powerful magnetic and non-magnetic filtration characteristics, the benefits for new and existing central heating systems are immediate:

Oil boiler servicing should be carried out annually to make sure that your boiler remains safe, reliable and efficient. If oil boilers are left for a long period of time without a service, they can “soot-up”. This makes the boiler less efficient and less reliable, resulting in increased fuel consumption and higher maintenance and repair costs. Boiler servicing is also very important from a safety perspective, as during a service the boiler will be checked for damage, leaks and deadly carbon monoxide emissions.
To ensure that your boiler is properly serviced, it is important to make sure that you find a technician who is qualified in oil fired boiler servicing. OFTEC registered engineers are fully trained and regularly checked, to make sure that their safety procedures are up-to-date. What Is Included in an Oil Boiler Service?
During your service, the engineer will check that your boiler is in good working condition, as well as testing the safety and efficiency of your system. Oil boiler servicing usually takes around one hour, in this time the engineer will:
When your boiler service is complete, the engineer will give you an OFTEC CD/11 form. This will list everything that has been done as part of the service.

There are specific rules for those applying as a private renter. Your landlord must be registered with the Department for Social Development’s Landlord Registration scheme. They will also need to give consent for any work being done and will have to contribute towards the cost of it.
Please note: this scheme is only available in certain parts of Northern Ireland where the local council is targeting your area.
How do you apply for Affordable Warmth?
The Affordable Warmth scheme in Northern Ireland is targeted, meaning local councils will get in touch with households they have identified as being possible recipients for the grant. You can find further information on the Affordable Warmth scheme in Northern Ireland by calling 0300 200 7874
